Samsung will soon release the Tizen 10 operating system update to select compatible home appliances, including Family Hub refrigerators and Bespoke AI series dryers, laundry combos, and washers. This update brings new features to compatible models. The software debuted with the 2026 Bespoke AI Family Hub Refrigerator.
Family Hub refrigerator models released between 2021 and 2025 will get Google Gemini-powered AI Vision features with the Tizen 10 update. It improves recognition of food items ranging from packaged items to fresh food. It can recognize a lot more types of food items and keep track of what's in the refrigerator and what needs to be restocked.
Moreover, the update also brings features like Now Brief and What's For Today to these refrigerators.
- Now Brief: It serves personalized daily briefings that offer daily schedules, tasks, news, meal options, and status updates from compatible smart home devices and their energy usage.
- What's For Today: It offers quick meal suggestions based on what's inside the refrigerator and your dietary preferences.
Compatible models include those with 9-inch screens (released in 2025) and those with 21.5-inch or 32-inch Family Hub displays.
Bespoke AI laundry appliances released in 2024 and 2025 will also get the Tizen 10 update. They will receive an improved version of Bixby that can understand natural language and conversational voice interactions much better. For example, you can ask, “When will my laundry be finished?” and it will reply with something like, “Your laundry is set to finish in two hours and 25 minutes.“
Dryers, laundry combos, and washers with a 7-inch Smart Screen display will get a refreshed UI design with Easy Mode that offers simplified controls and navigation.
This update will roll out globally in phases, starting in September 2026. Rollout schedules will vary depending on the country, region, and specific model.
